PLANET LA ARTISTS AND PARTNERS LAUNCH SOUTHWEST TOUR
PRQuick.comPlanet LA Records and partners are excited to showcase label bands Djinn, Evolove and Native June and other artists as part of a spring Southwest tour, including their main event at Momo’s in Austin on Friday, March 18 from Noon to 6pm during SXSW 2011. The “Abolitionist Tour: Road to Austin†aims to raise awareness for the Not For Sale campaign’s global efforts to combat human trafficking and slavery.
The showcase at Momo’s is hosted in partnership with Indie on Air, and will be broadcast live on the Internet by tour partner StageIt.com, from Noon to 6pm CST, March 18. Planet LA will release the CD compilation “Songs for Freedom†featuring artists performing at the event and others, with all proceeds to benefit the Not For Sale campaign. Artists scheduled to perform include Antonia Bennett, Big Kettledrum, Lovebettie, David Martinez Band, Danika Holmes, Red Wine Rewind, Remington, Planet LA bands Djinn, Evolove and Native June and an artist presented by Hello Music.
Showcase and tour partners include Indie on Air, Not For Sale, Stage It, Music Box Library, Songs Inc, Hello Music, 1888 Media, Blue Microphones, Bogner Amplification, Schecter Guitar Research, TC Electronic, JakPrints, Honest Tea, KIND snack bars and Whole Foods.
Planet LA Records will hold a tour kick-off event at the Cabana Club Hollywood on Saturday, March 5 at 8pm featuring their label bands. The tour will have stops at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, NV (Friday, March 11), Nile Theatre/Underground in Mesa, AZ (Sunday, March 12), Mix Bar in San Antonio, TX (Tuesday, March 15), Red Shed Tavern in Austin, TX (Wednesday, March 16), Momo’s in Austin, TX (Friday, March 18), Whole Foods Gateway in Austin, TX (Saturday, March 19) and Armadillo Hall in Taylor, TX (Saturday, March 19).
