New Company Uses Music to Reiterate National Early Childhood Math Standards and Encourage Physical Activity
February 22, 2012 – MUSACtivities launched its IndieGoGo campaign to solicit support for their debut early childhood education album. It is a 10-track project focused on national mathematics standards, using music and physical activity as teaching mediums. The album, produced by The Songmakers of Nashville, TN, will be available as a digital download and physical release.
MUSACtivities promotes education, retention, physical activity and encourage creativity through music. Their products reinforce early math skills of children ages 2-8 years old. Skills such as geometry, measurement, sorting and counting are all addressed through song, with supplementary materials that can be used as activities and assessments.
“Music is a universal language everyone can understand” said Shannon Carlisle, Co-Founder of MUSACtvities. “When information is set to a beat or rhythm, we tend to retain and recall it better. Our product allows parents and instructors to engage those students who may have different learning styles.”
MUSACtivities originally submit a proposal for Kickstarter.com but was denied because of their strong educational commitment. IndieGogo has proven to be a better venue for showcasing their cause without sacrificing creativity.
